With one final breath
Resisting this urge to
Succumb now to death
Fate could be kinder
Yet who am I to complain?
Just a speck in infinity
Less than a drop in the rain
To return here to nature
Become one with the sea
Cycles continued
Nothing ends here with me
A part of the boundless
Pattern of space
The arms of the galaxy
Reflect in the lines of my face
Starlight will blaze through
The dark spaces between
Everything unknown
And all I have seen
I'll see it all now
Sunk to the ocean floor
Or gasping for more breath
Pulled safely to shore
