When all of time has passed away

And all that yet remains 

Is a ghost of a feeling

Drenching every atom 

Every speck of dirt

Eroding every pleasantry 

And every minor hurt

I'll drink in this madness 

Fill with numbing cold

Drowning out the ages

Erasing young and old

Skin will stretch and tear

Then dissolve to dust 

Absolving every grievance 

And every bit of trust 

When all of time begins again 

And all is made anew

Dry sands attempt to cover

The faint remembrance of you

Sieving all these feelings 

Fading each memory 

Til the world dries of madness 

And you've forgotten me

Adding up to one last year

It's all an ongoing attempt 

To find ourselves right here

Here where life shifts

And new things unfold

What's there to say now

In the middle space we are in

On the edge of a lifetime 

Just waiting for it to begin 

The path forward is set 

All that's left are details 

And compared to your eyes

Still every word pales 

So I'll try to draw on moonlight 

Pale and serene 

To convey something more than

Words could ever mean 

For a light with no burn 

That shines through the rain

And glides through the dark

Is like a love with no pain 

We've felt it on our fingers
